YORK City boss Jackie McNamara is considering attacking reinforcements after on-loan striker Jake Wright was recalled by Sheffield United.

Wright, 20, scored once, claimed a couple of assists and picked up two injuries during his six-week spell with City, but is required back at Bramall Lane.

That leaves the Minstermen with Richard Brodie, Fraser Murdoch, Scott Fenwick and first-year pro Nick Kennedy as centre-forward options and, after tomorrow’s home match with Aldershot, McNamara could plot another move in the transfer market.

He said: “Jake Wright has gone back to Sheffield United to cover injuries there, which is a bit unfortunate. We’ll see how we go on that front and it might be something we to look at again in terms of the type of striker we need, because I thought we needed better pace and movement to get in behind Barrow’s defence last Saturday.”

Wright will be the only absentee from the Barrow game this weekend, with skipper Simon Heslop (ankle) and Shaun Rooney (shoulder) both having recovered from injuries sustained at Holker Street, while Danny Galbraith is now available for selection after missing the start of the season with a heel problem.

Right-back Lanre Oyebanjo is also edging closer to full training and McNamara added: “Danny Galbraith is back in contention and has trained all week.

“He hasn’t had a reserve game, but his fitness levels are very good, so he’s back in contention.”

On the threat presented by eighth-placed Aldershot, who are unbeaten in seven games, the City boss admitted: “It will be a big test. They try and play football and it will be a big contrast from last week.

“They’re dangerous and their game is about possession and pressing high. It could be a battle to start with but, once things settle down, we’ve got to make sure we take the game to them.”
