DOVER will arrive at York City with defensive problems after losing Richard Orlu to a hamstring injury.

Centre-back Orlu had to be substituted during the second half of Tuesday night’s 2-0 defeat at Dagenham, with replacement Tyrone Sterling the only alternative in his position on the books.

Manager Chris Kinnear, therefore, is still hoping to bolster his ranks for the Minstermen clash and his tenth-placed Dover team’s tally of 16 goals conceded is already the worst outside the division’s bottom six.

The Kent club have fewer problems at the other end of the pitch, where the goal exploits of ex-Luton striker Ricky Miller have attracted interest from league leaders Lincoln.

Miller has netted six times this term, including a hat-trick against Forest Green last weekend, despite only starting five games. Fellow former Hatter Ross Lafayette has also hit the target five times.

Orlu’s absence means Dover will be forced into a change after fielding the same starting XI for the last three games with the Dagenham defeat preceded by wins over Southport (1-0) and Forest Green (4-3).

The 62-year-old Kinnear is a legend at Dover, having led the club to the Conference in two different spells – the first time back in 1993.

He also got Margate promoted to the same level in the late 1990s, after pipping Burton Albion to the Southern League title.

Kinnear returned to Dover in 2013 and the club were back in non-League’s top tier the following year and reached the play-offs last term.

Dover (probable): Arnold, Magri, Sterling, Grimes, Thomas, Parkinson, Moore, Stevenson, Lafayette, Miller, Modeste.
