FORMER Oldham coach Keith Brown has been installed as York City's new academy manager.
Having started out as a trainee with Blackburn Rovers, Brown moved to Barnsley in a £100,000 deal, but only made 17 appearances for the Tykes before moving on to spells in Scotland with Falkirk and Berwick, via a brief loan spell at Oxford.
The Edinburgh-born, 36-year-old's five-year playing career saw him score two goals in 47 appearances, while he became Hearts' youth development phase coach in 2011.
Two years later, he went on to serve Accrington as academy manager for 15 months and then joined Oldham last September, where he was appointed first-team coach under former Blackburn midfielder David Dunn before leaving the post in January.
