CARLISLE United will entertain York City in a first match at their Brunton Park stadium for eight weeks.

The Cumbrians have relaid their pitch following extensive flood damage and were forced to play their last three home fixtures in Preston, Blackburn and Blackpool.

Having taken ten points from a possible 12 at Brunton prior to their last game there - a 3-1 triumph over Crawley - Keith Curle's men have beaten Notts County 3-0, lost 2-0 to Plymouth and drawn 2-2 with Yeovil in the FA Cup at Deepdale, Ewood Park and Bloomfield Road respectively.

Carlisle progressed past Yeovil, meanwhile, at the second time of asking on Tuesday night, when on-loan Shrewsbury defender Mark Ellis scored the winning penalty in a shoot-out victory after Matt Dolan, who converted from 12 yards against the Minstemen earlier in the month, had failed from the spot for the hosts.

Ellis' effort is expected to secure the club a £250,000 windfall from their televised fourth round home clash against Everton a week on Sunday, but the game did cost Curle the services of midfielder Luke Joyce this weekend following his red card.

Skipper Danny Grainger is also doubtful due to an injury that saw him replaced at half-time in Somerset, while a decision is yet to be made on whether striker Hallam Hope will extend his loan spell from Bury.

Curle is also weighing up whether to recruit Bradford utility man Gary Liddle in time for tomorrow's clash.

The hosts will begin the afternoon in tenth place, two points off the play-off pace, but with games in hand on every club above them other than Accrington.

A tally of 24 home goals can also only be beaten by Notts County in Sky Bet League Two and 12-goal leading marksman Jabo Ibehre, 32, is expected to be back in the first XI, having been a substitute in midweek.

Carlisle (probable): Gillespie, Atkinson, Raynes, Ellis, Grainger, Dicker, Kennedy, Sweeney, Gilliead, Ibehre, Wyke.
