SCOTT Flinders is in pole position to pick up his first Press Player of the Month award.

Going into this afternoon's final November fixture, Flinders is three points ahead of nearest rival Vadaine Oliver.

The former Hartlepool shot-stopper moved clear of the Minstermen's top scorer having received our man-of-the-match award during Tuesday's 6-0 thumping at Portsmouth.

That accolade earned him three points and he received another two after topping our online poll.

The other points went to Femi Ilesanmi (two) and Eddie Nolan (one) as The Press’ second and third-highest rated players during a dismal night on the south coast.

Against Leyton Orient on Saturday, the points went to man-of-the-match Vadaine Oliver (three), James Berrett (two) and Bryn Morris (one).

Oliver also collected the Player of the Month bonus points.

To be in with a chance of presenting the next Press Player of the Month award, please tweet your man-of-the-match choices from this afternoon's home match against Accrington Stanley to the @daveflettpress Twitter account.
