TOP scorer Barry Corr could return to Cambridge United’s side for tomorrow’s Sky Bet League Two clash at York City.

Corr has missed the U’s last four matches with an ankle problem, having netted five times in his first four appearances following a summer move from Southend.

The 30-year-old Irishman, who scored 16 goals as the Shrimpers won promotion last term during his fifth season for the outfit, has returned to training but might be eased back in with a place on the bench as ex-Oldham frontman Robbie Simpson continues as the team’s lone central striker.

Corr’s presence in the squad, though, would be a boost for Richard Money’s men, who have only won one of their last eight matches and scored just three goals during that time.

On their travels, meanwhile, Cambridge have not hit the target for five-and-a-quarter hours – a barren run stretching back to mid-August and a 2-1 triumph at Wimbledon.

While Corr could return, the rest of the visitors’ spine will be weakened by the continued absence of centre-back Josh Coulson and midfielder Keith Keane, as well as goalkeeper Chris Dunn’s suspension.

The ex-Northampton net-minder was sent off for conceding a penalty during Tuesday’s 1-0 defeat at Wycombe and Sam Beasant – the son of former England goalkeeper Dave – will deputise having come on for sacrificed ex-Minsterman George Taft following Dunn’s dismissal.

Ex-Stevenage shot-stopper Beasant started the season between the sticks and played in the first two league games before being dropped following a 4-4 draw at Carlisle.

Ryan Donaldson could be the other change to Money’s starting line-up, having made his comeback from an ankle injury as a substitute at Adams Park.

The ex-Gateshead attacker is likely to play just behind Simpson with Conor Newton either dropping to the bench or moving to right-wing back, in which case Elliot Omuzusi will miss out.

Cambridge (probable): Beasant, Roberts, Legge, Taft, Omozusi, Hughes, Berry, Dunk, Demetriou, Donaldson, Simpson.
