YORK City have appealed striker Vadaine Oliver's red card.
The Minstermen forward was dismissed in the 51st minute of the club's 2-2 draw with Carlisle United on Saturday after an off-the-ball clash in the Cumbrians' penalty box.
Manager Russ Wilcox said following the game that DVD footage of the incident was "inconclusive" and initially believed the decision of referee Nick Kinseley was one the club would probably "have to accept".
Now, though, City will appeal to the Football Association.
A club statement said: "York City Football Club can confirm that an appeal has been made to the Football Association following the red card issued to Vadaine Oliver against Carlisle United on Saturday, September 19, 2015.
"The forward was dismissed in 51st minute of the game at Bootham Crescent by referee Nicholas Kinseley."
