YORK CITY have sold around 1,200 season tickets for the upcoming Sky Bet League Two campaign.

Minstermen chiefs are reminding fans they have until the end of Tuesday to benefit from 'early bird' prices for all areas of Bootham Crescent before the price rises by up to ten per cent on July 1.

That means the cost of an all-year ticket in the Pullman Stand increases from £350 to £375 and a ticket for the David Longhurst Stand goes up from £275 to £299.

There will be a further ten per cent increase in the price of season tickets from August 1.

Supporters are being urged to benefit from the reduced prices, fill in their application forms, submit them to the ticket office as soon as possible and guarantee their spot as the last campaign of league football at the 83-year-old ground gets under way.

John McGhee, York City's general manager, said: "We are up to 1,200 season ticket sales, which is very much in line with the same time last year. We think that is great and it has been very busy at the ticket office over the past couple of days.

"Supporters who want a season ticket will pay more from Wednesday so we would urge them to come into the ticket office, or post their applications, as soon as possible."

Applications and payment posted through the ticket office letterbox on Tuesday night, and collected by the office staff on Wednesday morning, will be accepted at the early bird prices.
