MATCH-DAY and season ticket prices at York City have been frozen as the club count down to their historic final season at Bootham Crescent.

Sophie McGill, the club's communications and community director, said the board had made the decision as it was the "right thing to do, especially considering the disappointing results at home last season".

It means the cost of buying a season ticket to watch manager Russ Wilcox and his men attempt a charge up Sky Bet League Two remains the same as last year. But fans are still being urged to take advantage of early bird prices.

On-the-day admission is also unaltered, with an adult continuing to pay £18 for the David Longhurst Stand, £19 for the Benenden Popular Stand and Family Stand, and £21 for the York Pullman Main Stand.

An adult season ticket for the David Longhurst Stand stays at £275 (up to June 30) - which equates to £11.96 per match - and under-12s will continue to be able to buy a ticket for the whole campaign, for any part of the ground, for £50.

All season tickets will cost more if they are bought after June 30 with a new price in effect up until July 31.

Mini season tickets, for ten home matches, will go on sale in December. Prices have yet to be confirmed. Overall prices were increased last season following a full review. Season ticket prices had previously remained the same for two years.

McGill said: “The board of directors has decided to freeze season ticket and day admission prices for our final season at Bootham Crescent. We feel this is the right thing to do, especially considering the disappointing results at home last season.

"We are very thankful for the tremendous support the fans gave to the team to help us retain our Football League status and we hope supporters will continue to get behind the club for our historic final season at Bootham Crescent.”

City, meanwhile, have confirmed a pre-season friendly fixture at Darlington 1883 on Tuesday, July 14.

The re-formed side, who were promoted into the Evo-Stik Premier division after victory in the division play-offs, will host the Minstermen in a 7pm kick off at Heritage Park.

Tickets are £10 for adults and £6 for concessions. Under-16s will be admitted for free.
