PORTSMOUTH will still have nine players sidelined for their end-of-season home clash with York City.

The Fratton Park club currently have four crocked centre-backs in the treatment room – Paul Robinson (broken cheekbone), Ben Chorley (back), Nyron Nosworthy (hamstring) and Jack Whatmaugh (knee).

Full-backs Josh Passley (concussion) and Danny East (hamstring) are also unavailable, while striker Ryan Taylor (groin) and winger Andy Barcham (knee) will play no part against the Minstermen either.

Out-of-contract former Luton forward Tom Craddock, who has not made a senior appearance for Pompey since suffering a serious knee injury in November 2013, is unlikely to be considered, meanwhile, despite playing for the reserves this week.

As a consequence, caretaker boss Gary Waddock is expected to keep faith with the side that won 2-1 at Mansfield last weekend – a result that ended a run of three straight defeats.

Ex-QPR, Aldershot and Wycombe manager Waddock, who took over the reins three games ago after stepping up from his assistant role to the departed Andy Awford, will be taking charge of the 2008 FA Cup winners for the final time tomorrow.

He will make way for a permanent successor in the summer with Barnet’s Conference-winning chief Martin Allen and Paul Cook, who is currently at the helm of Sky Bet League One play-off hopefuls Chesterfield, favourites for the vacancy.

Portsmouth will entertain the Minstermen having failed to keep a clean sheet in their last nine games.

At the other end of the pitch, talented 21-year-old midfielder Jed Wallace is the club’s top scorer with 17 goals this season, including three in his last five outings.

On-loan Bournemouth striker Matt Tubbs has also plundered eight in 22 games for Pompey, having scored 15 times for League Two rivals AFC Wimbeldon during the first half of the season.

That overall tally of 23 makes him the division’s leading marksman and he has already netted three times against City this term.

In fact, including previous spells with Crawley and Salisbury, the 30-year-old forward has managed seven goals against the Minstermen during his career.

He has also struck three more goals in all competitions than any other League Two striker with Reuben Reid his nearest rival on 20.

Only counting league efforts, Tubbs is also two clear of Reid, Dagenham’s Jamie Cureton and Marc Richards, of Northampton, going into this weekend’s final programme of fixtures.

Portsmouth (probable): Jones, Devara, Ertl, Webster, Butler, Dunne, Close, Wallace, Hollands, Tubbs, Westcarr.
