YOUNG potter Steven Gregson has England on his mind - and a wildcard to snooker's hierarchy, writes Steve Carroll.
The York snooker prodigy has been selected to represent his country in the European Snooker Championships in Glasgow next month.
Gregson, a regular on the Pontin's International Open Series tour, will team up with Adam Duffy, of Sheffield, Newcastle's Stephen Craigie and Stuart Carrington, of Grimbsy, in the Under-19s event.
They, along with Gregson, form the top four players in the Premier Junior Tour Rankings.
Cueman Gregson, also in the last 32 of the English amateur, lines up in the event from April 5 to 10.
The 64 players taking part will be split into eight groups of eight each playing each other over the best of seven frames with the top four in each group progressing to the knockout stage.
The eventual winner of the event is usually considered for a wildcard on next season's Main Professional Tour.
