POCKLINGTON RUFC warmed up for their North One East opener against Middlesbrough with a 24-3 friendly win over Driffield.

The reigning Yorkshire One champions, who travel to Middlesbrough on Saturday (3pm), were comfortable winners in their Percy Road derby clash.

Pock took control when flanker Jack Holbrough burst clear from a ruck for an eighth-minute try which his brother, Joe, converted.

Driffield responded with a long-range penalty from full-back Rob Kitching, but that was only brief respite as Karl Durkin scored at the second attempt after a five-metre scrum.

After the break, the hosts pulled clear with touch downs from centre Billy Hardy and scrum-half Mike Davies, with Joe Holbrough converting one.
