Nestle Rowntree RUFC lose 34-32 to Sandal thirds

NESTLE Rowntree RUFC surrendered a 12-point lead as they narrowly fell 34-32 to Sandal thirds.

Trees led 12-10 at half-time through tries from strong running number eight Tom Searle and hooker Graham North.

They extended their lead with a penalty from Jack Gabbatiss and then a second converted try from Searle.

But Sandal responded with three converted tries and a penalty in a 15-minute blitz.

Gabbatiss struck his second penalty and then added a third conversion following a late try from centre Lee Underwood, but time ran out before Trees could complete the comeback.
