POCKLINGTON RUFC head into tomorrow’s fixture at table-toppers Preston Grasshoppers off the back of their first win as a National League side.

Percy Road was the site of Pock’s first North Premier victory, with Dan Elliot’s late conversion from Karl Durkin’s bonus-point try wide out in windy conditions giving the hosts a 22-20 win over rivals Ilkley.

Grasshoppers lead the way in the division after earning a bonus point in each of their six winning games this term, only dropping points in a 10-10 draw at Hull.

Malton & Norton travel to Bradford & Bingley tomorrow after last week’s impressive 50-24 home win over table-toppers Penrith that ended the Cumbrians’ unbeaten run in North East One.

This weekend’s opponents sit eighth, only two places and two points above Malt, but haven’t lost at home since the first domestic fixture of the season.

Following Old Brodleians’ defeat at Scarborough, York are now the only team in Yorkshire One with an unbeaten record, which they will hope to protect tomorrow at home to Moortown.

Last week, a youthful York side – fielding five players aged between 18 and 21 – won 29-5 at Hullensians, with Jon Dawes kicking well in windy conditions.

Moortown sit eighth in the league, but have scored 89 points in their last two wins – albeit against two of the three bottom sides, Wheatley Hills and North Ribblesdale.

Selby sit between these two in 13th spot ahead of their basement-battle visit to bottom-side North Ribblesdale. Both teams are still without a positive result in seven games.

The Sandhill Lane outfit's last outing ended in a 23-15 home defeat to Beverley, while tomorrow’s hosts fell 50-7 at Keighley – the third time this campaign they have conceded a half-ton.

York RI entertain Rossington Hornets on Saturday, after the hosts’ first win since the start of the season – 61-10 over Hornets’ South Yorkshire peers, Sheffield Oaks.

RI received a huge boost as they were able to field their strongest side yet this season, with a number of players returning from injury.

Hornets lost 50-12 at home to Hessle last week in their first game since the middle of September, having conceded walk-overs to the opposition the three games prior.

Despite this, they sit second-bottom in the table by virtue of having a superior points difference to Sheffield Oaks.
