The event was hosted by Sky Sport's Alex Payne and featured a whole host of rugby stars including Chris Robshaw, Lawrence Dallagio, Mako Vunipola, Owen Farrell and Maggie Alphonsie.

Parr helped York RI Ladies to an undefeated league campaign by scoring 116 points (12 tries and 28 conversions) – nearly 30 per cent of all the points scored by the team. She has been the driving force of the front row and is a key member of the line-up.

On receiving her award, Parr said : I wouldn't be stood here if it wasn't for my team. This is a team sport and all credit should go to the entire team, particularly our full back, Rachel Demoraes who had an outstanding season.

"Huge thanks to our coach Phil for his hard work and dedication. He never stops pushing us and his coaching has helped me become a better player."
