POCKLINGTON moved up to third in North One East after a comfortable 42-7 home win over Guisborough.

All six of their tries came from the three-quarters, including a hat-trick for winger Billy Hardy.

Alhough Pocklington had the advantage from the outset they passed up a couple of early try chances and, after 25 minutes, the score was only 6-3 with fly-half Matt Procter having scored two penalties.

Pocklington pulled away to lead 18-3 at the break as Hardy tracked from the right flank to touchdown wide on the left, then left wing Tim Nixon took an inside pass to blast under the posts for Procter to convert.

Pocklington stepped it up again in the second period as their pack took control and their free running backs caused havoc down the flanks.

A slick offload sent centre Pete Massie to the left corner, Hardy powered over on the right, then Massie weaved through for his second, Procter adding a conversion.

To their credit, Guisborough stuck at it and enjoyed their best spell early in the final quarter, forward pressure ended with their fullback diving over at the posts for a converted consolation.

But Pocklington had the last word, winning a lineout 20 yards out, then two flat passes sent Hardy flying over to complete his hat-trick and Procter converting.
