POCKLINGTON will be looking for a big finale at Percy Road on Saturday as they play their last home league game of the campaign.

They still have a trip to Newcastle to face Northern, plus the Presidents XV game on 1 May, but Saturday's fixture with struggling South Shields side Westoe completes their 2015-16 competitive home programme.

Westoe, who will be making a first visit to Pocklington, despite the two outfits being founded in 1875 and 1879 respectively, have spent most of the past decade as a semi-pro side in the national leagues. But they decided to try and rely on their local talent and were relegated into North 1 East this season; then have slipped to next to bottom, with only Beverley below them.

However, the north east club's results have improved in the second half of the season and they have won two of their last five games, while Pocklington have won just one in five.

When the sides met previously at South Shields in December the waterlogged pitch was barely playable, but Pocklington slithered to a close 15-10 victory.

The Panthers are also at home on Saturday as they entertain Bridlington.
