NORTH last week south this. After their trip to West Hartlepool last Saturday, Pocklington find themselves on the road again tomorrow as they head to Dinnington, on the South Yorkshire-Nottinghamshire border.

Pocklington have blown hot and cold this season in North East One, with some excellent showings being followed by disappointing performances.

Their inconsistency is reflected in their current eighth-place standing in the table – safe from relegation with 58 points but also out well out of the running for a top-five slot.

Tomorrow, Pocklington will be aiming to stem a run of three successive league defeats – coincidently all against northern sides, Alnwick, Morpeth and Hartlepool – when they go to fifth-placed Dinnington.

When the sides met for first time this season at Percy Road in December, Pocklington turned on the style to record a fine win 26-14.

Flanker Jack Holbrough is unavailable for the trip but otherwise the Pocklington team is a strong one.

Dinnington suffered travel sickness themselves last week as they went down to a 22-16 defeat on their trip to Morpeth. It ended their run of three straight victories.

After tomorrow's clash Pocklington only have two games remaining in their season.

Pocklington (at Dinnington) from: Dan Elvidge, Ben Stephenson, Dave Birch, Chris Morton, John-Paul Kelly Archie Fothergill, Karl Durkin, Tom Peters, Joe Brown, Johnny Wood, Ed Davidson, Matt Davies, Ben Rees, Matt Procter, Nathan Saltmer, Josh Britton, James Flint, Pete Massie, Charlie Wilson, Joe Holbrough, Tim Nixon. Meet 12 noon, kick-off 3pm.

York RI are playing their penultimate match of the season in Yorkshire Four tomorrow – also their final home league match of the season – against Rotherham Clifton.

It promises to be a hard fought mid-table clash as The Railwaymen are currently seventh, and Rotherham are just a place and three points behind.

York's opponents are in freefall heading into the game on the back of a five-match losing streak going back to January.

York, by contrast, have been inconsistent with two wins and three losses in their last five matches.

A win could see York challenge sixth-placed Ossett in the final matches of the season, and they will be hoping to round off their season in style next week at Burley.
