RELEGATION threatened Selby are hoping things will be looking up for them in Yorkshire One tomorrow when Old Brodleians are the visitors to Sandyhill Lane, kick-off 3pm.

Selby are 13th, occupying the final relegation spot and are involved in a head to head contest with 12th-placed Old Crossleyans. Both clubs have 25 points but Selby's points difference is 17 fewer than their rivals.

Selby battled their way into survival contention with a 31-21 victory last Saturday against Heath.

Tomorrow's match against sixth-placed Old Brodleians is a fixture that should have been played on March 5 but it was called off for an unplayable pitch.

The Easter weekend rearrangement date will have an impact on the teams some of whom will have players unavailable due to holidays.

After tomorrow's match Selby and Crossleyans will each have played 22 games and it will be a straight five-match race to the finish line with some intriguing games to come.

Selby will hope to get something from next Saturday's trip to bottom club West Park when Old Crossleyans face leaders Bradford and Bingley.

There is a nice symmetry to the following week when Selby entertain third-placed Bridlington and the Halifax side host fourth-placed Hullensians.

Then in the penultimate match of the season Selby travel to Yarnbury who are just two places above themselves as it stands while Crossleyans go to seventh-placed York.

Should it go to the wire the final match for both teams is at home. Selby meet Scarborough, who are fifth and Crossleyans have a derby against sixth-placed Old Brodleians, Selby's opponents tomorrow.
