YORK RUFC will be aiming to take out their frustration on Yorkshire One visitors Old Brodleians tomorrow.

Coach Sean Bass is still seething about last weekend’s 8-5 defeat at Middlesbrough and is demanding a response from his side at Clifton Park.

Bass said: “We could and should have won at Middlesbrough. It was so frustrating and hard to swallow.

“We had a chance to level and a chance to take the lead with two penalties. We should have gone for goal - I wanted us to go for goal - but we decided on the field to kick for the corner.

“Middlesbrough were beatable but we lacked leadership. I am not talking about the captain - you need to hear leaders around the park. I wasn’t happy with the team.

“We’ve got an opportunity to put it right now. Brods are struggling, but one of their wins was against us. We’ve got to get into them from the off and dominate.”

Full-back Alex Nixon and forward David Bates are back for York after missing last weekend’s game.

After battling with a major injury crisis in recent weeks, Pocklington will be looking to end 2014 on a winning note when they entertain basement side Horden.

Horden have struggled with life in North One East after being promoted as the Northumberland & Durham champions.

Pocklington again needed more time to check availability and fitness so coaches have named a joint squad for the firsts and the Panthers, who are at Wheatley Hills.

York RI travel to Sheffield Oaks looking to arrest a slump that has seen them lose two games in a row and drop from second to fifth in Yorkshire Four.
