POCKLINGTON RUFC’s losing run stretched to four games as they went down 22-0 at Rochdale in North One East.

Pock, who suffered a second successive whitewash after losing 26-0 to Sheffield, were again seriously under strength, having to make a number of late changes.

They fielded a side containing five teenagers, the latest debutant, David Davison, making a promising appearance at scrum-half.

However, Pock deserve credit for the way they dug in in the second half after being 17 points down at the break.

Things looked bleak for Pocklington as Rochdale scored twice inside the first quarter of an hour.

Though they struggled for set piece possession, Pocklington came more into contention as the half progressed with skipper Jack Holbrough giving a strong lead from flanker.

However, Rochdale added a third try before the break to extend their lead.

It was a similar story in the second period as Rochdale continued to dominate possession and territory.

But Pocklington responded with dogged defence and determined tackling and it was into the final quarter before the home side got the only score of the second half to complete their victory.
