GO and do it again. That's the message York RUFC head coach Sean Bass will give his players as they try to defeat Doncaster Phoenix for the second week in a row.

The Clifton Parkers inflicted the first defeat on the runaway Yorkshire One leaders when they shocked them 16-5 in the Yorkshire Shield last weekend.

Bass took huge confidence from that victory and, although he is expecting the South Yorkshire outfit to beef up their starting XV this time, he sees no reason why York can't inflict more misery on Phoenix.

"We are under no illusions that Doncaster Phoenix will come back bigger and stronger and we have to match that," he said. "We have seen what they have got and they have definitely seen what we have. So bring it on, we will have go to again.

"They are a decent bunch of lads. They have recruited well in the summer and they are really pushing hard for promotion. But we are a tricky side at home. Right through our history, we have been difficult to beat and, hopefully, we will be tough again tomorrow."

Bass's squad shows only one change from the first victory, with winger Hugh Nicholson coming onto the bench.

At the other end of the divisions, York RI have a huge clash as the Yorkshire Four high-flyers, in second spot in the division, travel to third placed Leeds Corinthians.

Head coach Dan Coates believes a settled side is why the New Lane outfit have won seven of their eight games this season and he is hoping that continuity can pay dividends again as they bid to keep up with Wetherby at the top.

He said: "We are going to have a very strong team and we feel we are still really consistent. It's a very similar team to the one that beat Halifax and we are hoping to go away and take a victory.

"The difference between us and other teams at the moment is that seem to have the same team home and away. This is a relatively tough ground to go to but we have been a couple of times and know what we have to do.

"We know how they are going to play and we have thought about it in great length."

Coates will need big performances from skipper Frazer Land along with centre Tim Lewis.

Selby chief Richard Nicholson needs an injury crisis to ease as his men try to pick up points at Sandhill Lane against Middlesbrough in Yorkshire One.

The Swans chief is without captain Dan Porter, who will be out until after Christmas following a hernia operation, and Bent Lunt (broken thumb) among many others.

"I imagine they will be very competitive, will have a sizeable pack, and it will be another tough game," Nicholson said of the Teessiders.

"We have had a bit of a rough time with injuries. Two or three are out for a few weeks rather than just a couple. When you are changing personnel weekly, the little units are not working as well as we would want.

"It is something we have got to cope with. It is part of the game and everyone is working hard and are positive."

Pocklington entertain former Premiership outfit, West Hartlepool, in North One East.

Nine regulars return after missing last week's cup tie, but teenage three-quarters Matt Springett, from Sutton-on-Derwent, and Jack Walters, from Wilberfoss, keep their places after impressing in the cup defeat on their debuts.

West Hartlepool have fallen down the leagues since being relegated from the Premiership in 1999, but it will be a special day for Pocklington head coach, Mick Watson, who starred for the North East outfit in their days at the top level.
