NEW Earswick All Blacks ARLC recorded back to back Pennine League Championship victories by defeating Queensbury 26-24.

All Blacks forged in front after ten minutes at White Rose Avenue, with Liam Gargan converting a penalty.

Bradford-based Queensbury then took the lead with a converted try and went further ahead with a converted try.

However, the home side responded with Alex Wilkins crossing the try line after good yardage set up the platform and Gargan converted.

Queensbury scored a converted try to lead 18-8 at half-time.

Another converted try put Queensbury 24-8 up early in the second half, but All Blacks hit back with Hayden Barber crossing the whitewash and Gargan converting.

The gap was narrowed to four points when Barber crossed for his second try, with Gargan again converting.

The York side regained the lead when Jordan Potter touched down and Gargan added the extras.

The closing stages of the match were tight, with both sides having chances to pick up more points, but the All Blacks held on for victory.

The New Earswick man of the match was Gargan, who was backed well up Jack Hodgson and Potter.

The victory moved the All Blacks up to sixth in the league table.

Sherburn Bears moved top of division four with an 80-0 victory over Wortley Dragons.

Having beaten Wortley 44-0 away from home, the Bears showed no mercy in the return fixture to make it four wins from four league games.

Full-back Pugh scored a hat-trick of tries and flying winger Luke Wood weighed in with four scores.

James Raywood, Shaun Crossland, Martin Leahy and Kevin Dalton all chipped in with a try apiece, while Connor Jordan and Jamie Baxter both scored two each.

Goals were added by captain Leahy, with nine, Pugh, two, and Jordan and Baxter, who kicked one apiece.

The Elmet Driver Training man of the match award went to scrum-half Jordan, who had an excellent game in attack and defence, topping the tackle count.

Second place went to Wood, with Pugh third.
