ROWNTREE RUFC Trees had a point to prove against Harrogate III XV, who beat them twice last season - and they did it in style.
Every one excelled as Trees drove forward from the kick-off for Ben Morrison to score.
As the backs ran amok, Dave Harder, debutant Ben Hodges and Ian Henderson scored with Nick Thompson converting all three tries.
Although Harrogate rallied in the second half they eventually had no answer with sub Mark Thomas running in three tries, Hodges scoring again, Jack Gabbitass crashing over and Alex Robertshaw outpacing everyone from deep. Thompson added two conversions to seal a 60-0 triumph, though the victory was marred by a serious knee injury to new captain Jamieson Howard.
