POCKLINGTON RUFC warmed up for Saturday’s North One East opener at home to Ilkley with an emphatic 43-0 pre-season victory at Middlesbrough.
Middlesbrough looked more likely to get the first score, but Pock’s defence held and they overpowered the home side to run in seven tries.
Centre Pete Massie crossed twice and there were further touchdowns for scrum-half and skipper Ben Rees, wingers Dan Maudslay and Charlie Allen, lock James Wilkinson and back row Matt Davies, with Dan Elliott (2), Jack Fletcher and Henry Mitchell kicking conversions.
Pock played Middlesbrough after receiving a bye in the first round of the Yorkshire Cup. They will host Morley in the next round after the Leeds-based outfit put out Driffield 33-29.
