A YOUTHFUL Rowntrees RUFC side edged out Malton & Norton thirds 27-23.
After going behind to an early try and penalty, ’Trees hit back with Matt Halpin and Tom Atkinson scoring out wide.
Malton come back to score on half-time to lead 10-15, but after the break ’Trees added two quick tries through Norwegian debutant Kristian Elgheim and Dave Harder, with Tom Atkinson mustering his only conversion.
Dave Knock touched down for a late try to seal the win.
