New Earswick All-Blacks turn up heat against Ossett Trinity

New Earswick All Blacks got back to winning ways with a 46-18 Pennine League Championship victory against Ossett Trinity.

All Blacks took the lead after five minutes through hooker Joe Davis. Half-back Tom Holmes converted.

Stand-off Liam Gargan crashed over with Holmes converting before prop Jack Stearman crossed and Holmes obliged.

Ossett crossed for a converted try but All Blacks added to their lead through full-back Joe Stearman. Holmes was again successful with the boot for a 24-6 half-time lead.

The home surge continued after the break, Joe Stearman, Sam Waite, Jack Stearman and winger Jack Law notching tries with Holmes adding three more conversions.

In the fourth division, New Earswick ‘A’ suffered a narrow 28-24 defeat against Wibsey Warriors ‘A’.

All Blacks hit the front leading 24-6 at half-time with tries from Ben Cooper, Wayne Foster and Steve Doswell (2) – Ady Robinson adding all the conversions.

But Wibsey countered in the second half with five tries to pinch the win.

The All Blacks man-of-the-match was Robinson backed up well by Elliot Bridges, Ben Cooper, Ben Fairburn and Andy Raynor.
