York Acorn ARLC win 42-26 against Hunslet

YORK Acorn ARLC’s ‘A’ team young guns overturned a more experienced Hunslet Warriors ‘A’ side, winning 42-26 in the Yorkshire Men’s League.
Fielding four 16-year-olds, the Blue and Golds raced into a 24-10 half-time lead and continued that momentum into the second half to eventually seal the victory.
Josh Thompson and Louis Phillips were both outstanding on debut, well supported by Carl Loft and Fran Starkey.
Acorn’s try scorers were Nathan Hebblethwaite, Callum Hannigan (2), Josh Potter, Jimmy Mountford, Paul Cross, Adam Sellars and Fran Starkey.
Man of the match Hannigan also kicked five goals.
