York Acorn shine in ten-try romp

YORK Acorn ARLC ‘A’ gained an emphatic 59-6 victory over at Stanley Rangers in the Yorkshire Men’s League.

The ten-try rout included scores from Jordan Hyde, Damien Hilton, Joel Johnson, Steve Doswell, debutant Will Axup, Joe Burns, Tim Elliott, Antony Chilton (2) and Matthew Woods.

Chilton kicked nine goals from his nine attempts and Steve Doswell added a drop goal.

Kyle Brown, Joel Johnson and Ben Fairburn shone in a good team performance.

Meanwhile, Heworth ‘A’ lost 38-6 at Hull Dockers ‘A’.

The Villagers took the lead on 20 minutes with a good try from young centre Jason Smith and Gary Watkinson converted.

However, Dockers led 14-6 at the break and ran away with the game in the second period.

Rich Rodgers had an outstanding game to take the Heworth man of the match award and there were also good efforts from Ash Adkins, Smith, Liam Ryan and Tom Barron.
