Jack Sinclair in action for BARLA Great Britain Cougars
11:47am Friday 15th June 2012 in Rugby League
New Earswick All Blacks ARLC player Jack Sinclair scored two tries and created another as the BARLA Great Britain Cougars made it two wins out of two on their Jubilee Tour to Jamaica – with sprint great Usain Bolt looking on.
The Cougars, the BARLA under-23s representative side, beat Jamaica Intercollegiate All Stars 70-10 in Kingston as a warm-up to the second Test against the hosts. Winger Sinclair did not play in the 52-10 first Test win.
Bolt, the 100 metres and 200 metres sprint world champion and record holder, was an unexpected guest while training at the venue. Stephen ‘Jonty’ Thompson, the York Acorn physio, is physio on the tour.
Sinclair, meanwhile, was awarded the first-team Coaches’ Player of the Year accolade at New Earswick’s end-of-season presentation day.
Ex-York Wasps captain and All Blacks stalwart Alan Pallister was Players’ Player and Top Try Scorer ahead of his move to Australia.
Other first-team award-winners: Most improved – Jack Carling; Players’ Player – Adam Kirby; Top Try Scorer – Adam Kirby; ‘A’ team award winners: Most Improved – Dave Smith; Coaches’ Player – Ben Cooper.
