FILIP WOJTKOWIAK was unbeaten as York RI 'A' moved into second place in division one of the York and District Table Tennis League after defeating leaders Topspin York 6-4.

In division three, leaders Wigginton & Haxby 'A' retained their 100 per cent record as they cruised to an 8-2 triumph over Clarence 'F' with Paul Halmshaw and John McLaughlin again unbeaten.

York RI 'G' remained second as trebles from Peter Smalley and Paul Greenwood earned them an 8-2 victory over Clarence 'D'.

A treble from Arthur Sorely made the difference as York RI 'H' edged a close encounter with Clarence 'E' 6-4.

Gary Bunce was on top form as Clarence CIU recorded a convincing 8-2 win over BT 'A', for whom Dave Simpson contributed a brace.
