SKIPPER Adam Kirby returns for Earswick All Blacks ARLC this weekend as they look to complete a 100 per cent home record and further enhance their title chances.

All Blacks won both their Forty-20 Cup ties on their own patch at the start of term and have since won all seven home matches in the Yorkshire Men's League first division to help them go top of the tree.

On Saturday, mid-table Mirfield come to White Rose Avenue (2.30pm).

Player-boss Jack Stearman, who also returns to the team alongside pack pal Kirby, said: "We want to sign off with another win.

"We'd said winning all our home games would help us achieve our goals and we want to finish on a high."

All Blacks have five away games to follow, and so far have won two and lost two on the road.

"It (home form) has been key to our successes and our position in the table," added Stearman.

Kirkby damaged ribs while representing York & District on their tour to Ukraine last month but is now fit to return. Stearman has missed the last two games with a knee problem.

The player-coach added: "Adam is a key player in our plans, our captain, and it's great to have him back for the run-in."

Heworth kick off the local rugby league action tomorrow night as they take on second-placed Norland Sharks at Elmpark Way (7.30pm).

Victory would not only do neighbours New Earswick a big favour but also potentially bring the Villagers back into the promotion race.

York Acorn 'A' host third-placed Keighley Albion on Saturday (2.30pm) looking to continue their recent resurgence which has lifted them out of the drop zone.

York Lokomotive, meanwhile, face a potential cracker in division four - the leaders go to second-placed Whinmoor Warriors needing victory to stay at the summit. The Lokos are currently only one point ahead with Whinmoor having two games in hand.
