HEWORTH ARLFC U12s booked a place in the semifinals of the BARLA Yorkshire Cup thanks to a 14-10 victory over Oulton Raiders.

The game was settled in dramatic style when Sam Hunt scored a try in 'golden point extra time' at Elm Park Way.

After a close first half, the teams were separated only by a well worked Oulton try.

The Black and Whites defence held firm on a number of occasions with Yonese Lazrak and Cassius Hazel making superb tackles.

The Villagers started the second half strongly when Pratt took a good pass from Feargus Brown from acting half and stepped inside to barge his way over near the posts. Kian Ogilvie converted superbly.

On the second play on the following set, Pratt once again made a break on the right hand side from within his own 40 metre line and dived over despite last ditch efforts from the Raiders winger.

With only seven minutes to play, the visitors scored and drew level from the conversion.

In the final minutes of the half, both teams had opportunities and Oulton sent a drop goal just wide.

As both sides tired in extra-time, Oliver Lambert's kick forced a knock on and, following some ill discipline by Oulton, the Villagers were awarded a penalty. Quick hands from the play the ball by Ogilvie and Pratt sent Hunt diving over for the winning points.
