ADAM KIRBY of New Earswick All Blacks was awarded the Colin Nolan Memorial Trophy as Player of the Year at the York & District Amateur Rugby League presentation evening held at South Bank Sports Club.
Kirkby's was one of several trophies presented on the night by the Sheriff of York, Jonathan Tyler.
Others included the Lady Player of the Year gong, which went to Mary Tiplady, of York Ladies; the Youth Player of the Year, which was won by Tom Barron, who played for both New Earswick All Blacks and Heworth; and the Eurig Thomas Trophy for the unsung hero, which went to York Lokomotive player, junior coach and committee man Matt Chapman.
York & District ARL secretary Spen Allison also presented four trophies for outstanding services to the amateur game, to long-standing match official Stuart Evans, Phil Pallister, of New Earswick, Simon Moat, of York Lokos, and Steve "Jonty" Thompson, York Acorn's longstanding physio who has also worked with BARLA Great Britain and Yorkshire.
