YOUNGSTER Alfie Lindsey is making waves in junior rugby league after scoring 100 tries this season for New Earswick All Blacks.

Lindsey, who plays for the club's under-9s team, reached his century in the final Yorkshire Junior League game of term against Milford Marlins which was played at Leeds Rhinos' training ground on Kirkstall Road.

It is the first time a player at the club has scored 100 tries in a season and Lindsey, who attends New Earswick Primary School, managed the feat in just 21 games.

Proud father Dan Lindsey said: "Hopefully, Alfie has got the potential to go a long way in the game. Opposition coaches are always commenting on what a talent 'the number 13' is."
