HEWORTH ARLC and York Lokomotive are having to wait to face off in their Yorkshire Men’s League Forty20 Cup derby.
The two Minster city sides were set to meet each other in their opening games of the new summer season on Saturday but both Heworth’s Elmpark Way ground and the Lokos’ pitch on Knavesmire were waterlogged after the recent wintry weather.
York Acorn ‘A’ also saw their opening tie against Skirlaugh Bulls ‘A’ fall foul of the weather.
The Forty20 Cup derbies come thick and fast, though, with Acorn ‘A’ set to host Heworth this coming Saturday before meeting the Lokos the week after.
Meanwhile, in the Pennine League, Selby Warriors were given a 30-0 division two walkover on Saturday by visitors Greetland All Rounders.
The points left them fourth in the table.
