SIX second half tries earned York Acorn ARLC a 40-14 victory at home to Ince Rose Bridge in National Conference League division one.

The Blue and Golds trailed 8-6 at half-time at Thanet Road, but they cruised to victory after two purple patches of three tries in ten minutes after the break.

Bridge were first to score after nine minutes, Martin Butler taking advantage of some sloppy defending to score around the outside.

On 26 minutes, Andrew Collier crashed over for the visitors, but Acorn put points on the board when hooker Lewis Lord darted in from dummy half two minutes before the break and Tom Mackley added the extras.

Acorn were on the scoresheet again on 46 minutes, Joe Budd making a superb break before offloading to Harry Bromwich, who found Matthew Woods running the perfect line to score. Mackley added the extras.

A minute later, Tim Stubbs crashed over for Acorn, taking three defenders with him, and two minutes later Budd arrived in support to take the pass from a superb break by Woods.

Ince responded with a try by Callum Hughes on the hour and Kenneth Baker added the extras.

With ten minutes left, Acorn again ran in three tries, started by Martin McTigue driving strongly over the line from ten yards out.

Then Josh Mortimer repeated the feat and finally Adam Endersby crossed, underlining the dominance of the Acorn pack.

Man of the match was awarded to Lord, who again showed how menacing he is at acting half.
