A SUBLIME second-half performance saw York Lokomotive ARLC hit second spot in the Yorkshire Men's League table with a convincing 46-14 victory at previously unbeaten Slaithwaite Saracens.

The first half was ridiculous, with the Lokos conceding ten penalties and being fortunate to go in at the break trailing only 14-6, their try and goal coming from captain Liam Watling.

The second period belonged solely to the visitors as enthusiastic defence set the platform for them to tire the Saracens' heavy forwards into slipping tackles and leaving gaps.

Full-back Danny Spencer got the ball rolling after a well-worked play from scrum-half Tyler Dawson, then Matty Foko-Richardson crashed over the whitewash.

Watling grabbed his second of the match, with hooker Ricky James then squirreling his way over the line from acting-half.

More concerted pressure led to loose-forward Jon Cambridge - back from a career-threatening injury - joyfully racing over for a fine score.

Spencer, again causing havoc going forward, secured his brace, and in the final minute rangy centre Zak Hardy outpaced the Saracens for a length-of-the-field try. Watling booted six conversions in total and Ricky James one.

Best for the Lokos were Watling, hard-running forward Pete Rogers, Tyler Dawson and Tom Gargan.
