BONUS points will not be used in rugby league next season.
Debate has raged over whether they should be introduced into Super League under the new league structure, having been used in the two Championship tiers since 2007. This format sees three points given for a win, two for a draw, a bonus one for a defeat, and none for a heavier defeat.
However, Rugby Football League chiefs have opted to scrap them altogether, with the new-look Super League, Championship and League 1 all to have the basic two for a win, one for a draw and none for a defeat.
