NEW Earswick All Blacks ARLFC suffered their second Pennine League Championship defeat losing 42-18 to Halifax side Illingworth.

All Blacks got off to a brisk start, breaking the deadlock after just three minutes through prop Nick Caldwell when good yardage made in the set-to teed him up to cross. Stand-off Tom Holmes added the conversion.

Illingworth responded in kind to level and then took the lead after 15 minutes with a converted try.

After half an hour Illingworth stretched their advantage, but All Blacks hit back just before the break with centre Adam Kirby finishing after good quick ball down the line to find space for Kirby to score with Holmes converting.

The opening 15 minutes of the second half proved pivotal to the outcome as Illingworth blitzed three tries to stretch their lead beyond reach.

Well in command, Illingworth rattled in another brace of tries to seal the win.

But at least for the All Blacks they managed the final say with Kirby crossing for his second try after reaching a Liam Gargan kick ahead before a flurry of runners. Holmes again was sure with the boot to add to the conversion.

The man of the match for the All Blacks was Reece Blake, backed up well by Gargan and Caldwell.

Selby Warriors, meanwhile, lost 30-16 at home to Dearne Valley Bulldogs in division four.
