SIX games, six wins. That is what York Lokomotive head coach Simon Moat wants as his men go all out for championship glory in Yorkshire Men's League Group 2.

After a setback against Scarborough Pirates 'A' last weekend, when they fell to a 10-6 defeat, Lokos look to get back on the winning trail at Huddersfield YMCA on Saturday.

The loss left them four points adrift of table topping Shaw Cross Sharks 'A' but third placed York have a game in hand on both them and second placed Bradford Dudley Hill 'A'.

"We have done very, very well at training and I know the guys felt that they really let themselves down at the weekend," Moat said. "The focus for this weekend has been fantastic.

"We have had a really good talk as a squad and we have got six games remaining. If we win all six we will win the league. It's a cliche but we are taking it one step at a time, starting off at Huddersfield YMCA.

"It will be a tough place to go. They have a pretty decent record at home but, if we keep our focus, I am confident of getting the two points."

Lokos are without big-hitting Ben Hepworth but Moat can welcome back half-back Ben Thompson, utility player Tim Lewis and full-back Matt Turner into his squad.

Asked whether he felt Lokos would be challenging for the top at this stage, Moat added: "I said at the start of the season I would be disappointed if we were not in the top two.

"I think we are where we should be. We want to press ahead. We have worked very hard, collectively and individually, and we are not in a false position. We really want to kick on and finish the campaign in style."

York Acorn go to Ince Rose Bridge still in the hunt for third place in National Conference League division one. Stand-off Anthony Chilton's last minute penalty gave them a share of the spoils in a 24-24 draw with Shaw Cross Sharks - their second tie of the season.

It is likely to be no easier for head coach Scott Rhodes and his men in Wigan, with Bridge tied with Acorn in the standings on 18 points but having played a game more.

York Acorn 'A' are at second placed Holderness Vikings in the Yorkshire Men's League premier division.

Heworth, beaten 22-6 by Coventry Bears last time out, have what looks like an impossible task at leaders Featherstone in NCL division three. The Lions have won all of their 13 matches this season.

Heworth 'A' entertain Stanley Rangers 'A' in Group 2 of the Yorkshire Men's League. Selby Warriors are without a game in Entry Division 3A.
