HEWORTH ARLC 'A' snatched a 16-16 draw with Normanton Knights 'A' in the Yorkshire Men's League.
Young centre Joe Deighton coolly kicked a 30-metre penalty goal to level the scores in the closing stages of the group two clash.
The Villagers well served by their crop of youngsters led by half-backs Max Colley and Billy Sturdy, along with Lewis Hartley, Luke Caddie and Deighton.
The hosts trailed 6-4 at the break with man of the match Adam Caddie crossing for a try.
It was a ding-dong affair in the second period with Heworth scoring tries through skipper Dave Bates and Deighton, who also added a conversion and the vital penalty.
York Lokos backed up their opening day victory over Heworth with a 38-6 triumph at Scarborough Pirates.
Despite Lokos' early pressure, Scarborough opened the scoring with a breakaway converted try.
Liam Watling scored quickly after the restart for Lokos and Tom Dunmore goaled the first of his five conversions.
A converted try followed from powerhouse centre Zak Hardy, leaving a trail of would-be tacklers in his wake. Dunmore converted to make the half-time score 12-6.
Lokos started the second period in dominant fashion and were soon on the scoreboard with quickfire tries from Dunmore and full-back Fatayi Okotete. Dunmore then danced his way over for a further four-pointer.
As the Lokos forwards continued to stifle any Scarborough attacks, gaps started to appear in the hosts' defensive line enabling captain Watling to grab two late tries to complete a hat-trick.
Man of the match Watling was well supported by Dunmore, Hardy, Jamie Price and new signing Jib Oki, who impressed on his debut on the wing.
