YORK Acorn ARLC got back to winning ways with a 38-12 victory over Ince Rose Bridge in National Conference League division one.

The Blue and Golds controlled the match from start to finish, starting well with Oliver Wilcox-Harrison off-loading to create a gap for Andy Gargan to go over on four minutes. Antony Chilton converted.

On 11 minutes, veteran schemer Gargan dived on Nick Speck's crossfield kick after the Ince full-back fumbled the ball in the greasy conditions, Chilton again converting.

The visitors struck back on 21 minutes when loose forward Gary Winstanley capitalised on some goalline pressure to barge over and Danny Cassidy added the conversion.

Order was restored on 26 minutes when some good approach play saw Jordan Myers jink his way over and, with the Chilton conversion, Acorn had a 12-point cushion at the break.

MIke Embleton raced through a gap after receiving a good short pass on 45 minutes and again Chilton converted.

Ince hit back when second row Phil Glover scored after a couple of Acorn mistakes on 51 minutes, Cassidy converting.

On 60 minutes, Harry Bromwich did well to create his own space to touch down and Joel Johnson pounced on another speculative kick on 70 minutes, Chilton converting.

Johnson repeated the feat on 78 minutes when he regathered another deft kick from Chilton to round off the scoring.

Nick Speck took the man of the match honours, but Chilton, Adam Endersby and Matthew Woods all had big games.

Meanwhile, Heworth lost 34-14 at Crosfields in division three.
