Primary pupils join Great School Fun Run

CROWDS of children are pictured setting off on the Tesco Great School Fun Run at Archbishop Holgate’s School in York.

More than 400 pupils from Archbishop Holgate’s feeder schools Osabldwick and Badger Hill took part in the run, which is aimed at encouraging youngsters to be fit and healthy, and exercise regularly.

The event started with a mass warm-up before each year group took it in turns to run the course.

While they were waiting to run, pupils were able to participate in other athletics events including throwing, running and jumping.

Head of PE Ruth Walker said: “It was a great morning made even better by the lovely sunshine.

“It was fantastic to see so many young people participating in this event.”
