A HAT-TRICK of trophies put the seal on a superb season for Bootham School’s basketball teams.

The York school’s under-13s team lifted the York and District Trophy after winning all their league games plus a play-off final against Tadcaster Grammar.

The U14s team, meanwhile, went one better by winning the York and District Trophy and then completing the double by claiming the North Yorkshire crown in Harrogate.

Bootham beat all the best teams from the Harrogate, Hambleton and Richmond, and Ryedale areas to win the county event.

Andy Bell, head of boys’ PE, said: “The Bootham teams played with real determination and vigour beating some tough competition.

“We’re all delighted by their success.”
