York City Baths Club swimmers in Doncaster successes

York City Baths Club swimmers, above, bagged 38 firsts and 23 speeding tickets at the Doncaster Dartes Santa Meet.

York City also claimed 17 second places and 13 thirds to earn them second place in the top club award.

Top swimmer awards were won by ten-year-old Emma Gibbs, 12-year-old Alex Scadding, Kayleigh Brown, 16, and Anthony Matthews, 16.

Jake Galley swam too fast in all of his events to gain four speeding tickets.

Hal Wallace, George Hogg and Edward Matthews all won awards as they competed in their first galas.

Jenni Hodgson, returning to competition after a two-year break, finished second in the coaches’ race.
