NINE pupils from St Martin’s Ampleforth Prep School have qualified for the finals of a top athletics competition.
The youngsters all made it through the North East area competition and will compete in Birmingham at the National Prep Schools Athletics Meeting.
Regional qualifying took place at Beckett Park in Leeds.
The ten finalists, and their disciplines, are: Emerald Blenkin (U14 Girls 75m Hurdles), Lydia Bramhall (U13 Girls 1500m), Daisy Pern (U12 Girls 100m), Georgina Eglinton (U12 Girls 200m), Toby Pratt (U12 Boys 800m), Manuela Legoretta (U14 Girls 800m), Alex Costa (U14 Boys Long Jump), George Innes (U14 Boys Discus) and Basil Fitzherbert (U12 Boys Long Jump).
