CITY of York Athletic Club's Robbie Brown starred for England at the British and Irish Junior Mountain Running Championships and Home Countries International in Ireland.
The 16-year-old, a newcomer to mountain running, helped England retain the trophy in Glendalough.
The holders won the team race in three out of the four events, with Brown the first English runner home in the under-17 boys' race.
He finished in a strong fifth place in a good field.
Tristan Rees led a strong Scottish team to victory in this race with three runners in the first four. England 'A' were third.
England swept the board in the U17 girls, U20 women’s and U20 men's events to claim the title.
