MINI squash sessions are on offer this summer. Stillington Squash Club’s Matt Bridson, a professional squash coach, has been promoting mini squash with the help of Yorkshire Squash.

Sessions have been held at local primary schools and at Stillington Squash Club.

The coach has visited Easingwold Primary to introduce the sport to youngsters aged between seven and 11, and invited them to the club for a free session.

Bridson now has Sutton-on-the- Forest and Huby primary schools in his sights.

Bridson said: “The school sessions include a video to introduce mini squash to the children and then practical sessions, with a mini squash ball and a racket for each pupil.

“The children are then invited to a free session at Stillington to play mini squash for real on a full-size squash court.

“The goal of the sessions is to start a mini squash after school club at Stillington once a week from September for local primary school children.

“The sessions are completely free, so if any primary school would be interested in a session, please contact me.”

The next free taster sessions will be held at Stillington Squash Club on Wednesday, July 9 and Thursday, July 10, from 5pm to 6pm.
