LILY WALKER set two new Tadcaster Swim Squad records on her open age debut at the North Eastern 50-metre Championships in Sunderland.

The 15-year-old was 14th in the 50m breaststroke, creating a new Tadcaster squad record, and 24th in the 100m breaststroke in a personal best time and another club record.

A trio of other Tadcaster swimmers qualified for the championships but were unable to swim due to illness and exams.

The next major event for the squad is the North Eastern Age Group (50m) Championships held over two weekends at Leeds and Sheffield.

Harry Souter, Tom Carswell and current Yorkshire 10-year-old butterfly champion Alex Williams will be representing Tadcaster.

Meanwhile, Tadcaster hosted an inter-club gala including more than 70 races against New Earswick and Team Jorvik.

The result was decided on the final relay race, with the hosts coming out on top for the third year running.
